Purdue announced seven of eleven non-conference match-ups for the upcoming Women's Basketball season. The team is guaranteed to play at least one NCAA Tournament team if not more during their trip to Florida.
In their exhibition game Purdue will host Marian University. Marian is coached by former Purdue standout Katie Gearlds. Gearlds is going into her third season at Marian. Last season the Knights finished 28-6 and played in the NAIA tournament.
Purdue will start their season with two home games; the first against Jacksonville State(19-10) and the second against Illinois-Chicago (16-14). The team will then travel to North Florida to take on the Ospreys (11-19).
Over Thanksgiving the Boilers will play in the Gulf Coast Showcase. Other schools participating are Dayton, Louisville, Louisiana State, Maine, Marist, Missouri State and Stanford. Four of the teams in the field played in the NCAA Tournament this last season. Dayton lost to eventual National Champion UCONN and Louisville lost to Dayton. LSU lost in the first round and Stanford lost to runner-up Notre Dame.
The Lady Boilermakers will end their non-conference schedule with four home games against Dayton (28-7), Incarnate Word (5-24), Ball State (17-14), and Maine (23-9).
Purdue's ACC/B1G Challenge opponent has not been decided yet.
