National championship confirmed?!?!

Where were you the night of February 24th, 2010?

I know where I was: sitting in my dorm room in Cary South wondering if Purdue’s Final Four dream was dead as Robbie Hummel was helped off the floor with a knee injury. I don’t need to recount everything that happened after that, as two possible Final Four teams were crushed, and Hummel’s return in the 2011-12 season was a bumpy one, with a sour loss to Kansas that led to THAT video that Travis recorded.

It’s a night that many Purdue fans will never forget, similar to that other fateful night for Purdue Football in October 2004. It is a night that we can point to and say that it changed Purdue Basketball forever, and it would never be the same again.

As we approach the nine-year anniversary of that fateful night, is it time that we finally defeat that curse and the demons that haunt us? Sure enough, Robbie Hummel himself went to Minnesota to defeat the demons from that fateful night:

Does that mean that the curse and its demons are dead? Could this mean that Purdue will go to the Final Four and win a national championship?!

Only time will tell...
