Earlier this month, we reported that Purdue would have home-and-homes against Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Rutgers, and Wisconsin during conference play this upcoming season. Today, Purdue confirmed those rumors by releasing their home-and-away conference schedule:

As you can see, Purdue and Indiana will only play each other once this season, with the lone game being in Bloomington. The last time Purdue and IU only played once was during the 2015-16 season, with the lone game also occurring in Bloomington. IU won that game after a semi-controversial ending.
Needless to say, Purdue will have a tough conference schedule, with tough road games and relatively easy home opponents. Purdue will have to travel to Iowa City and Ann Arbor; Purdue hasn’t won in those cities since the 2011-12 season and has won at every other Big Ten arena at least once since then.
There have been talks about adding protected rivalries within the Big Ten, as well as increasing the conference schedule to 20-games, both of which would be good moves for the conference. However, we will have to wait at least one more season for it to come to fruition.
Just a reminder...

We have nothing to do with the release of the conference opponents. #BoilerUp
UPDATE:
In their release regarding their conference schedule, Indiana Athletics noted that this might be the last time Purdue and IU will only face each other once in a season:
This will likely be the last season that IU and Purdue will meet only once in the regular season as Big Ten Athletic Directors voted in May to protect rivalries such as IU/Purdue, Michigan/Michigan State and Northwestern/Illinois from playing just once in the regular season [emphasis mine]. In football, IU and Purdue meet every year despite playing in different divisions.
