Coach Painter is here for the long haul. His latest extension keeps him here through the 2021-2022 season, marking ones the last few moves that Morgan Burke will do during his final year on campus.

As we can all recall, we nearly lost CMP during the 2011 off-season when Missouri made a strong push for him. Thankfully, we decided to pay him what he wanted that offseason keeping him in West Lafayette. With this extension he now has six years left on his contract.
While many are disappointed that we have yet to make it past the Sweet 16 under CMP, there isn't another guy I would personally want leading this team right now. Over 11 seasons, CMP has culminated a great win-loss record, sitting at 263-139. With 8 of the 11 seasons making an NCAA Tournament appearance. Only missing his first season as head coach and when our beloved Johnson bros as the leaders of the team.
Now with a great leader in place for the next six years for our basketball team, it is now time to find a successor for Morgan Burke.
