It doesn’t look too good

Earlier today, USA Today projected the records for all 130 FBS college football teams. Here’s their outlook for the Big Ten at Purdue:

USA Today

As you can see, USA Today expects Ohio State and Wisconsin to win the East and West Divisions, respectively, with Ohio State winning the conference title game. In addition, they expect Ohio State to finish the regular season undefeated.

As part of their predictions, USA Today expects Purdue to finish with an overall record of 3-9, with a conference record of 2-7. While they did not provide a break down for each game, we know 2 of the 3 wins.

Purdue’s three non-conference opponents this season are Louisville, Ohio, and Missouri. Given that Louisville and Missouri are projected to finish their non-conference schedules undefeated according to USA Today, we can assume Purdue’s lone non-con win will come against Ohio.

USA Today projected that Rutgers will once again go 0-9 in conference play for the 2nd straight year. Since Purdue plays at Rutgers this year, we can assume that Purdue’s 2nd win will come against Rutgers according to these predictions.

As for the 3rd win, I am going to assume it will come against Illinois or Indiana. Of course, that’s just semi-educated guess, and I’m a little lazy to go through all 14 Big Ten teams and find out who will win each game based on these predictions.

What are your thoughts on these predictions?
