According to a release from FBSchedules.com, Purdue will host the Memphis Tigers in 2020 and Indiana State in 2022. Pending any post-season games, this will be Purdue’s first ever game against Memphis. Memphis will be the third FBS team Purdue will play in the next few seasons that Purdue has never faced before (the others being Boston College in 2018 and Rutgers this season).

According to the article, Purdue will host Memphis on September 12th, and “will pay the Tigers a $750,000 guarantee for the game, according to a copy of the contract.”

As it stands, Purdue’s 2020 schedule is:

  • Sept. 12th vs Memphis
  • Sept. 19th vs Notre Dame
  • Sept. 26th at Boston College

That same season, Purdue should also be hosting Wisconsin, Rutgers, Northwestern, and Iowa, with road games at Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Illinois, and Indiana.

Purdue’s non-conference schedules are now complete through 2020, and Purdue has at least one non-conference opponent scheduled every year until 2027.

Additionally, it was reported that Purdue will host Indiana State in 2022. Purdue hasn’t faced the Sycamores since 2015, when they beat them 38-14. The Big Ten originally banned schools from hosting FCS teams after the conference schedule increased from eight to nine games. However, they have since added an exception for seasons where a team is scheduled for four B1G home games and five B1G road games. Purdue has four conference home games on even years.

The 2022 Indiana State game is the only non-conference game scheduled so far that season.
