I said last week that Purdue shouldn’t overlook Rutgers. Here we are a week later and Purdue is coming off a loss to Rutgers...ugh. I know they’ve improved, but losing to Rutgers really sucked the positivity and optimism away from this team. I’m sure Brohm can turn things around after a bad loss like that, but can he do it in just 1 week?
The clock is ticking, and Purdue can’t afford another loss now if they want to go to a bowl game this season. Sure, a bowl game was not the expectation for Purdue back in August, but it is now given how weak the B1G West division looks. Despite losing to Rutgers, Purdue is still favored in this game. Nebraska is better than Rutgers (since they did beat them this season), but this is a team Purdue should beat and needs to beat.
The only way Purdue removes the taste of defeat from their palate is by winning this Saturday. No more close games, just win.
