Original article:
As you may have seen, Purdue will have a press conference starting at 4:30pm and will be shown live on the Big Ten Network. Even though I’m still in West Lafayette after attending yesterday’s game, I will not be attending the press conference after discussing it with Purdue’s athletic administration since we’re not officially credentialed media with Purdue Athletics.
In case you missed it, here is what we know:
- Head coach Darrell Hazell was fired earlier today by athletic director, Mike Bobinski. Bobinski made this decision after consulting with Purdue president, Mitch Daniels, and Michael Berghoff, chair of the Board of Trustees.
- Gerad Parker was named as interim head coach for the remainder of the 2016 season. Parker was the wide receivers coach, and already has the blessing from former Purdue wide receiver, Danny Anthrop:
Gerad Parker is the best coach I've ever had, you would run through a brick wall for him and he'd do the same for you.

We’re hoping to learn some more from this press conference, and if you can’t watch we will update you later.
Programming alert: BTN will air the @BoilerFootball press conference at 4:30 ET today.
