Today we have a couple south Florida players with both players coming from Miami. In fact, they very likely played against each other several times.
Bilal Marshall - Jr.
Miami, FL (Dade Christian HS)
6'2", 195 pounds
Wide Receiver
2015 Projection: Contributor at Wide Receiver
Marshall has been very, very patient to this point. He started at Purdue as a quarterback and transitioned to wide receiver, where he notched his only meaningful statistic to date. He threw a single pass against Notre Dame in 2013. In three years on campus he has appeared in seven games as a reserve.
Marshall had a breakout spring, however, and coaches have raved about his hands. He has battled injury, but was solid in the spring and fall as Purdue has looked for playmakers at receiver. He should factor into the rotation quite a bit.
Leroy Clark - Jr.
Miami, FL (Archbishop Carroll HS)
5'10", 190 pounds
Safety
2015 Projection: Starter at Safety
It is a four-star recruit that is working out! Clark was a four-star prospect two seasons ago according to ESPN and enters this season with 23 games of experience and four starts. He already has 42 career tackles and has been very active. His best game to date was a five tackle effort against Wisconsin last season.
Clark has been relative quiet in terms of hype, but that might be a good thing. He quietly does his job without being noticed, but as a full-time starter now the expectation for him to be more active in the passing game is critical.
