14 Days to Purdue Football: Ra’Zahn Howard

The junior defensive tackles enters 2015 as one of Purdue's most experienced players on defense.

Purdue's depth at defensive tackle is a big positive going into 2015, and that is where today's player plays.

Defensive Tackle

2015 Projection: possible starter at Defensive Tackle

Howard has been a major contributor from his first day on campus. In 2013 he played in six games as a true freshman and even had a sack. Last year he started 10 of 12 games and added 20 tackles to go with another sack. He is a massive defensive tackle whose role is to plug the middle of the field against the run. That role should be even bigger this year as he is one of four tackles that Purdue expects to rotate to keep people fresh.

Also, in high school he was a state champion in 2011 as part of a run defense that gave up on 434 yards rushing.
