Today we have a player that owes a lot to his father, as his dad is current defensive coordinator Greg Hudson.
Garrett Hudson - So.
Tallahassee, FL (North Florida Christian HS)
6'3", 240 pounds
Linebacker
2015 Projection: Contributor at linebacker/special teams
It has never been made clear if Hudson is on scholarship or if he is a "walk-on" while still getting his tuition covered because his dad is a member of the staff. Regardless, he has progressed well in his first two years on campus. After redshirting in 2013 he played last year as a reserve and on special teams. He appeared in five games and had a single tackle.
Right now he is projected to back up Ja'Whaun Bentley at the all-important middle linebacker position. He likely has the smarts for the position as a coaches' son, but Bentley is the better player right now. Because of that, Hudson provides us with needed depth.
