Today we are featuring a wide receiver who is likely critical to Purdue's success in 2015 and a defensive tackle that is likely headed for a redshirt.
Cameron Posey - Jr.
Boca Raton, FL (American Heritage HS)
6'1", 183 pounds
Wide Receiver
2015 Projection: Starter at Wide Receiver
I though Posey was in line for a big year last year. He had a solid debut in 2013 as a true freshman when he caught 26 passes for 297 yards and three touchdowns. Those aren't huge numbers, except for the fact that Purdue struggled to move the football in any way that year. It was good for a freshman, and Posey looked like he would be a star in the offense for years to come.
Then last spring he tore his ACL. While he was able to come back and play in 11 games in 2014, you could tell he was limited. He only had 19 receptions for 188 yards and a single touchdown, which came at Nebraska. He clearly was not the same reliable receiver he once was.
As we head into his junior season it is hoped that Posey returns to form. He is fully healthy and ready to contribute. His final two games in 2013 yielded a touchdown each, and with some stability at the quarterback position (He has had three different ones so far) he can be a big threat.
Eddy Wilson - Fr.
Pontiac, MI (West Bloomfield HS)
6'4", 265 pounds
Defensive Tackle
2015 Projection: Likely redshirt
I would bet that Wilson redshirts this year, mostly because there is depth in front of him at tackle. He was still a solid three-star prospect from Pontiac, Michigan and was an all-state selection in the shot put. In the unlikely event that he does play the fourth game of the year will be a grudge match. As embarrassing as it is to steal from MAC teams, Wilson originally committed to Bowling Green before coming to Purdue.
