Geovante’ comes in looking to compete with Purdue’s established corners of Dedrick Mackey, Kenneth Major, and Cory Trice. Those three were up and down this past season, but Howard comes in with two years of eligibility. Maryland and Arkansas were his best two offers.
This season he was credited with 27 tackles and 2 interceptions. Kilgore went 10-2 and won its final two games of the year. He also served as a kickoff returner. Given that Purdue struggled big time in that area in 2019 and we probably want to save Rondale Moore, that could be another area where he finds a way to player.
Regardless, this is a good pickup and a guy that will bring immediate help to the secondary.
