Purdue picks up another promising linebacker

NCAA Football: Indiana at Purdue Thomas J. Russo-USA TODAY Sports

Purdue has recruited linebacker pretty heavily int he last two cycle, and this signee is another promising prospect:

Kydran Jenkins is another promising 3-star linebacker according to all the major services. He is expected to play int he middle, much like earlier signee Ben Kreul. Purdue was his only major conference offer.

Jenkins might be more of a developmental player that is headed for a redshirt, but that is fine. There is always a need for depth at linebacker, and there is also the possibility of playing on special teams. He is also a pure athlete, playing soccer and basketball in addition to football. Those last two should be interesting in his development. The soccer component can mean good footwork.

This is definitely a solid pickup for coach Brohm and Co. He played both ways at his high school, featuring as a running back in a running back in a single wing system.
