The Old Gold Show - A Victory Over #9 Illinois

Casey joins me to discuss the victory.

Casey and I had to get together to discuss the #1 Purdue Boilermakers victory over #9 Illinois. Was Casey right that this Illinois team wasn’t going to be any good or did Illinois surprise him?

We get into all the finer points of this game including, did Purdue run a zone for a time in the first half? Was Casey brave enough to utter the word zone to Coach Matt Painter in the post-game press-conference? Is this the TKR that Matt Painter saw in practice and envisioned when he went with the TKR and Zach Edey lineup to start the season?

Purdue always finds a way to keep things close and this game was no exception, should fans be worried about that or is this just something that happens? Plus, what in the world was Lance Jones supposed to do when someone is falling on him? Allow them to break his neck? That seems less than ideal for the young man.

Finally, we discuss Ethan Morton’s offense, and if there is any kryptonite to be used against this team. Join us, listen, watch, like, rate, review, subscribe, please do all of the things. You won’t regret it.
