In a Big Ten battle, the Purdue women’s basketball team survived a second-half rally from Rutgers to secure a home win 77-76.

Purdue took a commanding lead in the first quarter led by Maddie Layden and Rashunda Jones who combined for 14 points in the first ten minutes. The Boilers held a ten point lead heading into the second quarter but Rutgers pulled it to within three as the Scarlet Knights hit a triple at the end of the half.
