Like a season ago, we are going to track Purdue’s non-conference schedule and how those games affect Purdue’s resume come March. Based on a team’s ranking (we’ll use KenPom for now) and where the game is played, a game is placed into one of four Quadrants (1 being the best and toughest game). The goal is basically to have as many Quad-1 and Quad-2 wins as possible and as little Quad-3 and Quad-4 losses. But these rankings are fluid, so a Quad-2 win in November could rise to a Quad-1 and look better or vice versa. So, we’ll track each non-conference opponent each week (and eventually conference foes too) to get a scope of Purdue’s overall resume. Below you’ll find the table for categorizing each game:
