With the Maui Invitational coming up next week, Casey and I thought it would be smart to take a look at the field and what to expect going into this tournament. It’s going to be one of the most difficult tournaments I can ever remember Purdue playing in. The field is stacked with the 1st, 2nd, and 4th ranked teams all in there. Whoever comes out the champion will have won against some incredibly tough competition.
We know only one opponent of Purdue’s, Gonzaga, in the Monday game. Depending on who wins and who loses, Purdue will play either Syracuse or Tennessee on Tuesday. Neither one of those opponents will be easy. Purdue comes into the tournament ranked #2 in the country but has not faced a test like this so far this year. We will know much more about the team after this event. How will Lance Jones, Myles Colvin, and Camden Heide react to the increased competition? How will the team react to playing three games in three days? There’s a lot to discuss and thanks to Casey I feel much more knowledgeable.
