After having two convincing wins on the week the Boilers jumped 3 spots in latest polls.

The Boilers had a rematch with indiana last Wednesday at home after falling to the Hoosiers the week prior in Wilkinson Hall. Purdue was all out of sorts in their first matchup and were prepared to not let the upset happen again.

Purdue had the most blocks in a match so far with 16 led by Raven Colvin with a season-high 11 blocks. Lourdes Myers had a career night with 11 kills. Purdue was dominate at the net with a hitting % over .300 in two sets while holding Indiana to .135 in the match. Hudson led all hitters with 19 kills and had a .467 hitting % in set 3.

Schermerhorn and Hornung took care of the back row racking up 25 digs together.

Purdue then took on #11 Penn State on Sunday and pulled out a huge statement win on the road. The Boilers won the match (18-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-22) and was the first win over a top #15 opponent since September of last year.

Equally impressive they dropped the first set but maintained composure to win the next 3. Set 2 had 13 lead changes at the end before Hudson sealed with win with an attack.

Purdue has had some convincing wins only to falter back with some careless errors and drop the next one so it’s nice to see these women putting things together. Chicoine had a .405 kill % and led the team with 20 kills.

The Boilers are now 13-6 overall and fourth in the conference with a 7-3 record behind Nebraska (10-0), Wisconsin (9-1), and Penn State (8-2). Purdue takes the court again on Thursday at 7pm against Minnesota in West Lafayette.
