NCAA Football: Minnesota at Colorado Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Purdue needs a bye week because of its injury issues, but it needs to get through Minnesota to get there. That is a challenging task, as Minnesota has a strong running game and even stronger defense, but this past weekend they lost as a 30+ point favorite to Bowling Green. The offense abandoned them with a very poor passing game and it resulted in a 14-10 loss to a bad Bowling Green team.

At least Purdue is now not the last Power 5 team Bowling Green defeated.

This will be a challenging game for Purdue. The Boilers need to get at least something going in the running game and the improved defense will be tested by a huge offensive line that paves the way for solid backs. Will David Bell be back? Will Payne Durham be back? It will be a challenge, but being 4-1 and 2-0 in the Big Ten at the bye would be excellent.
