Purdue 13, Illinois 9: In Tweets

Yeah, people were tweeting about this, for some reason.

Well, Purdue accomplished that whole goal of “score more points than the other team”. The 13-9 margin was the fewest points Purdue has scored in a win since beating Michigan 9-3 in November of 1996. That was coach Jim Colletto’s final win at Purdue, so it has been a while. This also marks the first time Purdue has held two opponents without a touchdown in one season since 2007, when it did so to Eastern Illinois and Iowa. The defense has been pretty solid.

The offense? Eh...

As I said, Purdue accomplished the goal of scoring more points than the other team. The Boilers now have the all-time lead in the series with Illinois for the first time since 1905 at 46-45-6. We’re also halfway to bowl eligibility, so there is that.

People were tweeting about this. I did my best, but despite Purdue being a leading technology school cell service and wi-fi in the stadium is still hot garbage.
