2021-22 Countdown to Purdue Basketball

The 2021-22 Purdue men’s basketball season is one of the most anticipated in school history.

I don’t think that is hyperbole. I think the last time expectations were this high was 2010-11 before Robbie Hummel got hurt. Purdue is one of the favorites to win the Big Ten. It will likely be a preseason top 5 national team. The expectations of a record 25th Big Ten regular season championship and finally a trip to the Promised Land of the Final Four (hey, the Israelites had to wait 40 years and it has been 40 NCAA Tournaments since our last one, just sayin’) are not unreasonable.

Also, the fans will be back in Mackey Arena, and after a full year away they re going to be louder than ever because I know we have an extra few decibels reserved since we have to make up for last year.

If Purdue is to ever win a national championship, this would be the crew to do it. Everyone is back except Aaron Wheeler. We have added a pair of instant impact freshman.
