59 Days to Purdue Football: Dave Monnot III

The third year player is ready to provide depth.

Due to some recent departures due to injury Purdue’s expected depth on the offensive line has gotten thin, so today’s player needs to be ready in year 3.

Dave Monnot III - So.

Joliet, IL (Joliet Catholic HS)

6’6”, 295 pounds

Offensive Line

2021 Projection: Reserve

Monnot comes from a school that has greatly helped Purdue before. He played in high school at Joliet Catholic, which is the same school that gave us Mike Alstott. Obviously he came long after Alstott, but I thought that was a cool connection.

So far in two years at Purdue he has yet to play. He was a three-star commitment from a team that won Illinois’ Class 5A state championship in 2018. I expect him to provide depth this season after serving for two years as a solid practice player, especially since the depth we had at first is now gone. He has good size to contribute.
