Coming back from injury is never easy, but that is what today’s player is in the process of doing.
Antonio Stevens - So.
Nashville, TN (Battle Ground Academy)
6’2”, 190 Pounds
Safety
2021 Projection: Reserve
Antonio played in five games last season as a reserve, which is pretty good. He was a three-star recruit out of Tennessee and even reached the state championship game his junior year. He was on a definite upward trajectory last season before tragedy struck in the final game against Nebraska.
Stevens was covering a kickoff in the fourth quarter when hw took a hit and took a leg injury hat was described as “graphic”. That kept him out for spring football, so he is making his returns his season after an extended layoff. He did not officially gather any statistics last season, but gaining some playing time as a true freshman is important and he can help shore up some depth in the secondary.
