Making it to the field as a walk-on is always a challenge, but that is what today’s player did last year.

Zane Greene - Jr.

Indianapolis, IN (Pike HS)

6’, 200 pounds

Safety

2021 Projection: Reserve

Greene has been with the program for quite a while. He joined the team in 2018 as a walk-on after a solid career at Pike where he had more than 100 tackles and five interceptions. he was also great off the field:

Greene is a member of the National Honor Society, he’s on the leadership council of Youth Career Connect and he’s participated in and graduated from the Center for Leadership Development here in Indianapolis. He’s also goin’ to be participatin’ in the 100 Black Men Beautillion Ball this spring. Talk about a busy dude!

In 2018 and 2019 he didn’t play, but he made it to the field last year, playing in four games. He even got his first two tackles against Rutgers.

Greene is probably in line to be a special teamer and a reserve this year, but seeing the field is seeing the field.
