Today marks the halfway point of our countdown, and in that, we feature a young defensive end that saw his first playing time last year.

Sulaiman Kpaka - So.

Grand Prairie, TX (Grand Prairie HS)

6’2”, 275 pounds

Defensive End

2021 Projection: Reserve

It is no secret that Purdue needs more of a pass rush. Last season it had George Karlaftis, then... (crickets). As a defensive end Kpaka might be able to provide more of a push on the side opposite big George.

Kpaka redshirted in 2019 as a three-star recruit and saw some very limited action last year. he had a tackle at Illinois, one of two games he played in. He did have a graduation story published by his high school before coming to Purdue:

There will be an opportunity for him to find the field this year. Karlaftis is the only one with a definite spot up front. The rest is up for grabs.
