It is always good when we get a legacy recruit, and today’s player is a legacy.

Jaelin Alstott-VanDeVanter - Fr.

Mooresville, IN (Mooresville HS)

6’6”, 280 pounds

Offensive Line

2021 Projection: Reserve

Yes, that last name is familiar and Jaelin is, in fact, related to the great Mike Alstott. He is also related to former All-American and First Round draft pick Anthony Spencer. That gives him a great pedigree before he sets foots on campus.

He was part of a pretty good team at Mooresville the last few seasons. Last year Mooresville went 12-2 and lost to state power Roncalli in the semi-state. His teams also won sectional titles in 2019 and 2018. he was part of a big turnaround from 3-9 when he was a freshman.

Jaelin already enrolled early and went through spring practice, so that gives him an advantage to see the field, especially with the unfortunate rash of medical retirements across the offensive line. He could be a quality reserve this season.
