It is amazing that Purdue got two quarterbacks from he same high school, but between hey will have one completion. Nick Sipe was from Villa Park HS and completed a single pass for 3 yards against Minnesota in 2018 before an injury forced his retirement from football. Today’s player was his backup and is now no longer a quarterback.
Paul Piferi - So.
Villa Park, CA (Villa Park HS)
6’5”, 240 pounds
Tight End
2021 Projection: Reserve
Piferi looks like the Hollywood casting of a southern California QB. He was originally a three-star prospect that was brought in with plenty of time to develop into the position as part of the the 2019 recruiting class. He did not play in 2019, and last year saw action on special teams in three games as a tight end.
The position shift is an interesting move, and he is part of a deep unit thanks to Payne Durham, Kyle Bilodeau, and Garrett Miller ahead of him. He still looks to be a contributor on special teams though.
