The offensive line has made great strides in the past few years,. Several players have developed and there is actual depth now, but several starters remain, including today’s player.

2021 Projection: Potential starter

The abbreviated 2020 season was a good one for Holstege. After redshirting in 2019 he emerged as a regular starter, playing in all six games and starting five of them. He was so good he was even an honorable mention all-Big Ten selection.

What stands about him is that he can play all over the place. He can play guard, center, or tackle and that is important. Gus Hartwig is probably the starter at center. Tyler Witt has one guard spot, but Holstege has a great shot at grabbing the other one. Can he step outside and grab he open left tackle position? It seems like a possibility.

The good thing is that he will play, and probably be very good as well.
