It certainly feels like there will be some normalcy in the fall, unlike last year when we did this countdown and I had my doubts there would be a season. We start the players on the countdown with an experienced defensive lineman that should at least provide depth.
Jack Sullivan - Jr.
Plainfield, IL (Plainfield East HS)
6’5”, 275 pounds
Defensive Line
2021 Projection: Potential Starter
For the past two seasons Sullivan has been a regular contributor after redshirting in 2018. His first major playing time was against Vanderbilt in 2019, where he had three pass breaks and was generally a terror with defensive pressure. He has played in all 18 games the past two seasons and even made a pair of starts. He has recorded 25 tackles, two for loss, and a sack. He has also batted down 5 passes. His sack came against Nebraska last season and was one of the few Purdue had in the six game season.
Sullivan could be a solid end rusher that gets opportunities because of what George Karlaftis will demand on the other side of the line. At minimum, he will regularly be in the rotation. You could see him starting as well.
Sullivan is also professional flight technology major and was Academic All-Big Ten the last two years.
