Yesterday, the over/under for Purdue Football Wins was set at 5, from Sports Betting in Las Vegas.

In such a critical year for the Brohm era, he better exceed those expectations.
5 wins shows little improvement from the last two seasons, where things took a turn after two promising seasons under Head Coach Jeff Brohm.
5 wins does not get you to a bowl game. 5 wins does give you a winning record. 5 wins does put Coach Brohm squarely on the hottest seat in the Big Ten.
So, with expectations set so low from Vegas. How can Coach Brohm ensure that his football team exceeds that margin of 5 and gets a bowl berth, which would be our first since the 2018-2019 season, where we got thumped by Auburn in the Music City Bowl?
Well, the answer to me is easy.
Bring back the fire, intensity, creativity and “Let’s Play Football” attitude from the first two seasons.
Open the playbook up for explosive plays.
Execute on Special Teams for the first time in 3 seasons.
Stop the run on defense and get a pass rush.
The buck starts and stop with Coach Brohm. The man got paid and since that moment, the team has went downhill.
There are a lot of “what ifs” coming up from the fan base. This is a year where he can shut those what ifs down.
His first true recruiting class is going into their 4th year, his second, into their third year. We should have production from those guys all over the field.
Jack Plummer should be developed enough, going into his fourth year with the team to take a stranglehold on the position, from younger guys, from a former walk on and a transfer. We need him to be the guy to get the offense going again.
George Karlaftis will return to his freshman year form and put himself in first round pick discussions, if he can provide a pass rush off the edge with partner in crime DeMarcus Mitchell, the Purdue defense will improve.
The defense added some bodies to the interior defensive line this off season to help with run support issues as well.
A big one for me, is the poor play from Special Teams. We need the players to buy into the fact that you have to win two of the three phases in a football game to win at the end of the game.
Special Teams is vital to a successful team that may not be as skilled as other prominent programs. We saw success with it in 2017 on a huge scale, since then though, it has be dismal.
5 wins is attainable.
It has to happen.
It needs to happen.
The players, coaches and fans deserve it to happen.
Let’s Play Football.
