The Detroit Lions defense needed a rebuild this off season after they were one of the worst units in the NFL in 2020.
Their new coach, Dan Campbell, wants to instill an aggressive, downhill team on both offense and defense.
Barnes fits the bill for the defense. He has the speed to run sideline to sideline, but can also be a force in the run game.
Barnes has played Inside Linebacker, Outside Linebacker and defensive end during his time at Purdue and I think it is safe to pencil him in as an Outside Linebacker for the Lions.
Personally, I believe he is a plug and play linebacker for that defense is ready to get younger and more athletic.
Congratulation, Derrick and Boiler Up!
