Purdue was in late on one of the top prospects in the state.
Popeye Williams, who has been turning heads since his freshman off-season when he went to camps all over the United States, now has Purdue in his top 5.

Popeye has offers from everyone all over the nation, including schools like Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame and Auburn.
When the new defensive staff was hired, Popeye became a priority, Coach Mark Hagen who has sent over a dozen of defensive linemen to the NFL, including Purdue greats, Kawaan Short and Ryan Kerrigan, wants Popeye, bad.
Popeye who could be a hand in the dirt defensive end or a stand up rush end needs to add some mass, but he has all the athletic ability in the world to be an impact player at Purdue.
At 6-2, 225 Pounds, he has the room to grow into a 250 pound monster on the edge. He is explosive and is more of a pass rusher than a run stopper. But, either way, for the class of 2022 he would be a huge boost to a class that has Brady Allen, a 4* Quarterback from Southern Indiana and Domanick Moon, a 3* linebacker from Fort Wayne.
