The Sharon Versyp-Katie Gearlds tag team has now picked up an in-conference transfer to add into the fold in former Illinois’ forward Jeanae Terry!

This is a great pickup for the program, as the wing slot of the rotation was largely inexperienced and thin heading into next season. Although Illinois had a brutal season, much like the Boilermakers, Terry was one of their leaders both in production on the court and a leader in the locker room.
As a sophomore, she was second on the team in scoring at 10.7 points per game and rebounding at 7.8 rebounds per game while also leading the team in assists with 4.39 per game. Terry is an all-around great player and can fill multiple needs right away for this Purdue team.
There is not a glaring weakness in Terry’s game from what she showed in her first two seasons in the Big Ten. She can score, set up her teammates, rebound at an excellent clip and guard multiple positions while also adding much needed experience to the team.
Terry is now the third transfer Purdue has picked up during the short offseason, joining Abbey Ellis and Mide Oriyomi. Not to mention the incoming freshmen class consisting of Skye Williams, Ava Learn and 2021 Indiana Miss Basketball, Jayla Smith.
I fully expect the newest Boilermaker to come in and compete for a starting role this upcoming year at the three position. Congrats and welcome to Purdue, Jeanae!
