Purdue Baseball: Falls in Extra Innings

I hate you so much, Iowa

For the second weekend in a row, there was baseball being played at Alexander Field.

This weekend, Purdue hosts Iowa.

On Friday evening, our Boilermakers fell to Iowa 4 to 2 in Extra Innings.

A low scoring, pitching duel all day, Purdue left the bases loaded a couple of times throughout the game and it was a constant struggle to get runs scored, even with men on base.

Schapira was our starting pitcher this evening, going 6 innings allowing only 1 run on 3 hits. The bull pen did its job, up until the top of the 10th, when we allowed to runs to be scored.

Nisle hit a solo shot this evening for our Boilers in the 2 hole of the batting order, as a bright spot to an otherwise lackluster batting performance, which has become commonplace with Purdue Baseball as of late.

The Boilers will try to get their bats going tomorrow afternoon against Iowa again and on Easter Day in the afternoon.

Iowa has now improved to 11-2 all time at Alexander Field, an astonishing record at the home complex for Purdue. Purdue will look to cut that to 11-3 tomorrow.
