Purdue Boilermakers. Climbing since February.
In the latest ESPN Bracketology, Purdue is slated in as a 4 seed facing off against Winthrop, a projected 13 seed.
Winthrop, who is currently 21-1 and would be a tough matchup, but nothing that Purdue couldn’t handle.
The Boilermakers are currently soaring, winning four in a row, dating back to February 16th, when Purdue beat Michigan State, the game before that, was a late collapse against Minnesota.
But, since that moment, Purdue has not looked back. Jaden Ivey has continued to grow each game, last night he had 3 different drives to basket that left me saying “Wow”.
Zach Edey, is turning into the best big man in the conference to come off the bench. He makes an immediate impact, with his strong decisive moves.
Trevion Williams continues to be the post presence we all expected and Eric Hunter Jr should be the defensive player of the year in the conference.
Sprinkle in the outside shooting and grittiness from Sasha and Newman, as well as the bully ball that Mason Gillis plays and we have all the makings to win a couple games this late March.
With a win this weekend against IU, Purdue locks up a double bye in the Big Ten Tournament.
The Boilers are surging and the rest of college basketball is starting to realize how good this young basketball team is.
Food for thought.
We return everyone for the 2021-2022 season and bring in two top 40 players as freshmen.
This team is very good now and will only continue to get better.
