According to 247Sports Transfer Portal Purdue WR Jared Sparks has entered the transfer portal.

The wide receiver opted out for this season due to Covid and had also seen his playing time diminish during the prior season. After having 28 catches for 274 yards in the 2018 season in 2019 Sparks only had eight catches for 108 yards. This of course coincided with the arrival of Rondale Moore, David Bell, and other highly sought after wide receivers.

Sparks originally came to Purdue as a QB but was quickly buried on the depth chart. He eagerly made the move to wide receiver and showed great promise. Sparks played in just three games this season before opting out. Prior to opting out he had four catches for 38 yards.

The young man came to Purdue hoping for playing time and I don’t blame him for seeking it elsewhere. Regardless of where he winds up as he ends his time at Purdue with a degree he will always be a Boilermaker. We here at Hammer and Rails wish him nothing but the best.
