Just a yesterday, the Purdue Men’s Basketball program had their game postponed against Nebraska due to what would assume to be covid-19 issues, and now the same has happened to Sharon Versyp’s and the women’s basketball team.
Purdue’s game scheduled for Thursday evening against Rutgers has been postponed “due to health and safety protocols”. There is no word on whether this was out of the Purdue program or the Rutgers program, but regardless, the game will not be played on a later date.
Fans knew that this was most likely going to happen in the college basketball world, but having both the men’s and women’s teams postponing games only a day apart is rough for Boilermakers fans.
What this means going forward remains to be seen, but Purdue has their toughest stretch by far coming up in the next week or so. If any major contributors are forced out, it could be a rough few games for the Boilermakers.
Purdue is set to play #12 Maryland on the road before hosting #19 Indiana inside Mackey Arena and then travel to a good 7-1 Iowa team.
