As I said just two days ago when I posted about the game time for the Penn State game being announced it was likely additional changes would be forthcoming. Well, today more news came out including a new date for the Ohio State game.

This tweet contains tipoff times for a number of games but the big nugget is the change of the date of the Ohio State game. As the tweet says this game is moved from the 27th to the 19th. This is a strange situation. I can’t recall a game ever being moved like this before while in the season.

Looking at the Nebraska schedule my thought is that Purdue and Ohio State moved this game to accommodate a rescheduled game against Nebraska. This leaves Purdue with no games between Jan. 22nd against Michigan and January 30th against Minnesota. Nebraska now has a schedule of January 20th, January 24th, and then no other game until January 30th. This leaves a perfect opening for a January 27th game to be set between these two teams. Nebraska has been on pause due to Covid issues but should be clear in two weeks one assumes. I have no insider knowledge of this but it makes sense.

The schedule continues to be subject to change but for today there’s much more we know.
