This evening, Yanni Karlaftis took to Twitter to announce he is going to delay his college decision.
As i continue to evaluate the incredible opportunities i’ve been given, I have decided to move back my commitment date to a later time. Stay tuned— Yanni Karlaftis (@therealYK_14) August 3, 2020
Karlaftis was set to make his decision on August 9th, which was this coming Sunday.
Yanni, the in town prospect and younger brother to Freshman All American, George Karlaftis, would be the center piece to the 2021 class. The 2021 class to date, has yet to do much to open people’s eyes like the 2019 and 2020 classes did.
As of now, the 2021 class is the 79th ranked class per rivals. It is expected to be a lower ranked class as it going to be a much smaller class in comparison to the previous three classes.
The last time Yanni announced his final 4 teams, it included Purdue, Cal, Wisconsin and Oregon. A list in which it appeared that Purdue and Wisconsin were the front runners.
I think we can all agree, we hope Yanni makes the same decision that his older brother made and decided to stay at his local university. He will have an opportunity to be an instant impact type of player, just like many Purdue Freshmen in recent seasons.
