Let’s face it: for Purdue ones, the number 15 jersey is the shirt of a Legend. That’s capital “L” Legend. You cannot think of that jersey without thinking of Drew Brees. Today’s player has the honor of wearing that jersey.

DaMarcus Mitchell - Jr.

Thibodaux, LA (Southwest Mississippi CC)

6’3”, 270 pounds

Safety

2020 Projection: Potential Starter at Safety

Mitchell is just massive as a safety. I mean, I cannot even fathom going across the middle and running into that large of a human being. In high school he played quarterback, receiver, and safety. He then went to Southwest Mississippi Community College, where he had 71 tackles, 30 solo, with 1.5 sacks as a sophomore in 2019. The highlights here also show him playing some offense.

Mitchell was a JuCo brought in to compete immediately. When football returns there are a lot of positions up for grabs, so Mitchell will have to prove himself.
