I always have a ton of respect for walk-ons that play hard and earn their way to the field. That is today’s player.
Alfred Armour - So.
Indianapolis, IN (Warren Central HS)
6’1”, 235 pounds
Running Back
2020 Projection: contributor at Fullback
Armour came to us from one of the most storied programs in the state. Warren Central has won nine state championships and was 14-0 in 2018, but that was the year that Armour redshirted as a true freshman. Him playing on offense at Purdue is a bit of a surprise. He rushed for 301 yards and one touchdown as a junior. and caught 11 passes for 233 yards and three touchdowns over his high school career. As a defender he had 142 total tackles (61 solo) and 14 sacks as a DE and LB over four seasons.
He is known for his strength though, and that is how he got to the field:

Last season he played in all 12 games as a reserve and on special teams. He actually got a pair of carries for a total of three yards against Minnesota and he caught a pass for no gain at Penn State.
Armour has served as a strong blocking fullback, and is sure to get a few carries here and there as well.
