With the transition to the new 3-4 defense under Diaco, everyone will have an opportunity to see the field. Stokes, going into his 3rd season, will have a chance as he is now considered a veteran.
But, in two years at Purdue, he has yet to record any stats. KJ has gained quite a bit of muscle weight since coming to West Lafayette, putting on nearly 40 pounds of weight.
In the new 3-4 Defense, he is an ideal size for the “anchor” defensive end, while is the one you depend on a bit more for run support. I would have said in last year’s defensive scheme he was headed more towards being an interior DL.
