The 4 star prospect comes with a familiar name as he is the younger brother of Freshman All-American Defensive End, George Karlaftis.
Purdue has an opportunity to gain a commit from a 4* Linebacker right of their backyard.
This recruitment has been much different that of his brother’s. It appeared early on with George that Purdue was the front runner as long as Jeff Brohm remained the Head Football Coach.
Yanni is interested to hearing all offers. After look at his list, he has had interest from about everyone all over the county.
But, in his final 4 we see a couple of Pac-12 teams and Big Ten Teams.
You would think Purdue may have a leg up in this race. Yanni has been at Purdue more than any school and has been able to build relationships with coaches and players. I believe he has only taken official visits to Wisconsin and Purdue.
He wanted to take officials to Cal and Oregon, but, a well known Pandemic has gotten in the way of everyone’s recruitment process.
Yanni, again is a 4* linebacker and ranked the 2nd best player in the state of Indiana, only behind Blake Fisher an Offensive Tackle that is headed to Notre Dame.
At about 6-3, 210 pounds, Yanni has room to build on his fram, but his athleticism suits him well as a roll safety in Diaco’s new system, where he bounces back and forth from a 3-4, to 4-2-5 to 3-35.
Yanni’s versatility will serve him well if he were to choose Purdue and he would have an opportunity as a freshman to play with his brother again, as George would be headed into his Junior year.
I think we would all welcome him with open arms! Boiler Up!
