Purdue’s defensive line looks like it could be pretty solid with lots of depth this coming season, and today’s player is a big reason for that.

Lawrence Johnson - So.

2020 Projection: Contributor

Johnson is a very promising young player. After redshirting in 2018 he exploded as a solid contributor and reserve last season. He played in all 12 games and started nine of them at defensive tackle. In the new 3-4 it remains to be seen where he really will play, but he could be a top backup to Lorenzo Neal. He ended up finishing the season with 21 tackles, with four each against TCU and Indiana.

As i said above, Johnson has a lot of promise coming into his year. With three years left to play he can be a solid starter and contributor for a long time to come.
