After adding Ryne Smith as a coach yesterday the Men of Mackey will be adding two more players to the roster today. Rosters are not completely limited to one school, as sometimes overall All Star teams are formed without a specific school allegiance. The first player added today is at least Purdue-adjacent, however, as he played his college career at Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne:
Roster Announcement #7 We are thrilled to welcome Purdue (FW) grad @Fbgaines to our roster!! Frank is a 6’3” scoring guard who played in @thetournament last year and is enjoying a wonderful career in the top Euro League. Please help us welcome Frank to the squad! ⬆️ ⬇️ pic.twitter.com/ztruuNIf4w

Gaines had a stellar career at IPFW, graduating in 2013 as one of their best players ever. He averaged 20 points per game over his last two seasons and shot just under 35% from three. Unfortunately, he went mostly unnoticed as the mastodons struggled to get over .500.
He has since bounced around the NBA’s G-League and Europe. He played in The basketball Tournament in 2016 and 2017 for Team 23, so he is a veteran of this event. This past season he played for Vitrus Bologna in Italy’s top league.
Welcome aboard, Frank.
Our second player today is on the board:
Roster Annoucement #8 We’re so excited to have @EBoudreaux12 join our squad for the @thetournament! Evan is a 6’8” power forward who can stretch the floor. The former Ivy League ROY averaged a near double-double before transferring to Purdue and enjoyed a solid career! pic.twitter.com/nh47Nfc4MG

Evan Boudreaux gave us solid play each of the past two seasons, and his versatility should be an asset. He can rebound shoot the three, and is a general hustle guy that is always welcome.
