The redshirt freshman is very promising.

Today’s player is probably the one I am most excited to see as a redshirt freshman, mostly because we do not get many 4-star commitments. That means expectations are already high.

Steven Faucheux - Fr. (RS)

West Chester, OH (Lakota West HS)

6’5”, 285 pounds

Defensive Tackle

The stars say it all. Faucheux was a four-star commitment per Rivals and a high 3-star per 247. ESPN also had him as a four-star. He was one of six four-star commitments in the 2019 class, joining George Karlaftis, Mershawn Rice, Marvin Grant, Milton Wright, and David Bell.

I am honestly a little surprised we did not see him at all last season. I thought for sure he would get a 2-3 game tryout before salvaging his redshirt, but that didn’t happen. It was still an important year as he spent it in practice and in the weight room, something that should pay dividends this season.
