Having a solid left tackle is the base of a great offensive line, and for the past few seasons Purdue has had a solid left tackle in today’s player.

2020 Projection: Starter at Left Tackle

Hermanns is basically a rock. For the last three years he has been the starter at left tackle except for the final seven games in 2017 (knee injury) and for four games in 2018 (another injury. Last season he was even a team co-captain. He is exactly what you want in a player at his position. If he is healthy you plug him in, he protects the blind side of the quarterback, and you don’t have to worry about that spot.

That’s what we’re expecting from him this year. He is going to be the starter on a line that is improving. It is such a luxury to have a player like him, where you only have to be concerned with he other four starters up front.
