The countdown is back! As we approach football season we are once again counting down the roster to kickoff on September 5 in Lincoln. If the season is delayed we’ll delay the countdown. Let’s get is started today with a sophomore defensive end.

Jack Sullivan - So.

Plainfield, Illinois (Plainfield East HS)

6’5”, 270 pounds

Defensive Line

2020 Projection: Contributor

Sullivan was one of several players that got his feet wet last season as a freshman It was his second year on campus, as he was originally a class of 2018 recruit and redshirted that season. He was a key reserve last season, playing in all 12 games. He finished the year with 12 total tackles and a whopping five passes defensed, which is a big number for a defensive lineman. Being able to get that hand up and bat down a pass on the defensive line is huge. Sullivan’s best game came in the win over Vanderbilt, where he batted down three passes.

This coming season I can see him being in the rotation along the defensive line. He brings key experience to a position that always needs depth, so I expect him to contribute.
