Let’s Get Weird Episode 19: One-Way Football at Wrigley

One day in the somewhat near future Purdue may experience football at Wrigley Field.

Could we see Purdue football ever play at Wrigley Field? It is possible. Northwestern is slated to play games at Wrigley this season against Wisconsin, and unnamed games in 2022, 2024, and 2026. For these games Northwestern has to wait until November due to the Cubs season and any potential playoff games. The Boilers are scheduled to play at Northwestern in odd numbers years until 2025, but that could change in 2026 since the league schedule has not been announced yet.

This should go much better than the original game at Wrigley in 2010. Northwestern and Illinois met at the Friendly Confines to play football back then, and it was somewhat of a disaster as they could only go one way. There was lots of scoring and even a “wrong way” touchdown on a pick-six, but that was only part of the weirdness. Listen in as T-Mill and Paul discuss college football at Wrigley Field.
